About

I'm interested in the relationship between land, body and time and the tension between embracing disorder, and my urge to tidy. I often want the world to just stop for a moment, and allow me to catch up - hit rewind, and play it again so I can get it right this time. Yet I'm very aware of the petulance and the futility in that wanting. I use bright colors, simplified scenes and rearranged perspectives to illustrate the scramble to exist quiet for a minute while I hurriedly arrange things to be ready for something that already happened.

I grew up in Montana, graduating from The University of Montana in ceramics and drawing. I spent time living and working in Montana, Idaho, and Pennsylvania before coming back to my hometown with my partner to raise our family. I have worked in arts nonprofits since 2010 and have a small home studio. I currently live in Helena, Montana raising three young kids, and work as a film programmer and curator for an independent theater and gallery.
